Urban Table & Clapton Community Drop-In

Urban Table

Urban Table has been running for over ten years and attracts people from all walks of life.  It is an opportunity for people who need some food or a sympathetic ear to find some solidarity.  Urban Table offers practical and emotional support as well as a healthy meal. It is run by volunteers from the London Catholic Worker, RCCG and Clapton Park URC. Every Sunday at 2.30 pm the main hall of the Old School Rooms serves soup and sandwiches for anyone who needs some food and hospitality.

Volunteers are requested to arrive by 1.15pm and chop vegetables for soup, prepare sandwiches, cut up fruit and cake and make tea and coffee. We serve the guests from 2.30pm until 4.00pm, sit with them, and clear up at the end, finishing around 4.30pm.  Our team is lively and dedicated and the work is very rewarding.

If you would like to find out more about Urban Table or if you are interested in volunteering please contact Round Chapel office on 020 8533 9676.

Clapton Community Drop In

Clapton Community Drop in is an exciting new project to complement existing community work at the Round Chapel Old School Rooms in Lower Clapton, E5. It runs on Sundays and Wednesday afternoon offering more marginalised members of our community a friendly and non-judgemental service. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one Sunday per month as well as occasional training sessions in the week. Volunteers will help in offering support to those who use the service, particularly in relation to housing, benefits, Job Centre Plus, developing CVs and job search help, as well as health and family related issues.

For more information about the project and how to volunteer, please email claptondropin@gmail.com or you can download a volunteer application form from our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/claptondropin/
