What's on this week

There is something on every day of the week at the Round Chapel Old School Rooms.  Together with our nursery we are busy with birthday parties, weddings, a weekly playgroup, a Sunday soup kitchen, yoga classes, ballet dancing, cooking lessons, bike repair workshops, a children's after school art club, pilates classes and of course church services every Sunday where all are welcome!

Scroll down this page for more information about what is going on each day and who to contact if you would like to join one of the groups.

If you would like to hire our building for a private party or if you would like to have regular booking for your own group or class go to our 'Spaces for Hire' section or call us on 0208 533 9676.

A poem by the Sunday school kids at CPURC

Who knew that something home-made could be so effective?
Who knew that a bright star could be put out so early?
Who knew that one person could kill so many?
Who knew that this could happen?
Who knew that one person's actions could stir such reactions in the world?
 No one knew.

But what we do know is that everyone is equal in God's eyes
So we should treat everyone the same
Whether they are:
Black-white
Fat-thin
Tall-short
Rich-poor
Female-male
Next door-refugee
Adidas-Nike
Democrat-Republican
Arsenal-Chelsea
Christian-Muslim
In-out
And everyone in between.

Sunday

Sunday, 28 August - Service of the Word with Elizabeth leading and preaching

Clapton Park United Reform Church meets at 10.45am each Sunday morning, gathering for music and singing before the service begins at 11am. The singing includes contemporary and traditional music led by an informal group of acoustic musicians

Sunday, 4 September - Service of Holy Communion with Mercy leading and Elizabeth preaching and presiding over communion

Sunday, 11 September - All-age service led by Kari and her dad - an informal, interactive services that aims to engage everyone from children to youth to adults.

Urban Table is a weekly soup kitchen organised by CPURC, London Catholic Worker and RCCG. Alongside the soup kitchen the Clapton Community Drop In Project runs every Sunday and is a place where people can sit with others to talk through their housing and benefits issues and get some informal support in working through the challenges that they are facing.

New volunteers for Urban Table are always welcome. You do not need experience but do need to want to work as part of our team - and sit and chat to guests if you can. Please contact Mary on meofagan@googlemail.com if you are interested.

Saturday

9am - 1pm Perform in the Hall

Perform is a different type of drama school. We use a unique mix of drama, dance and singing - specially developed and written by us - to bring out every child's true potential.

Classes are kept small to ensure lots of individual attention by our experienced teachers - hand-picked for their warmth, energy and professionalism. They'll focus on your child's enthusiasm and engagement in the activities rather than their precision and ability to learn moves. And they'll be with your child every step of the way to guide, inspire and encourage.

As well as having fun at Perform, your child will enjoy real benefits: greater confidence, improved concentration and an increased awareness of what they can achieve. Go to the website for more information. http://www.perform.org.uk/
